Seiko celebrates its 145th anniversary with a new limited-edition King Seiko VANAC, featuring a striking silver-white dial accented with vibrant blue details. The special timepiece pays tribute to Seiko Blue, a signature color that reflects the brand's heritage and pioneering spirit.
Founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo's Ginza district, Seiko has built a legacy of innovation and craftsmanship. From introducing Japan's first wristwatch in 1913 to pioneering groundbreaking watchmaking technologies, the brand continues to combine technical excellence with distinctive design.
The King Seiko collection, first introduced in 1961, represents a balance of sophisticated design and high-performance watchmaking. The VANAC series debuted in 1972 with bold colors and multifaceted styling. Its modern revival continues this heritage with a sporty aesthetic and advanced mechanical technology.

The new King Seiko VANAC Limited Edition features a silver-white dial paired with a vivid blue inner ring inspired by the distinctive bezel design of the original VANAC models from the 1970s. This combination creates a fresh, refined appearance while celebrating Seiko's iconic blue color.
The dial's luminous indexes feature Lumibrite for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions. The hour, minute, and seconds hands are finished in a striking blue shade, complementing the dial's overall design. These details create a harmonious balance between legibility, functionality, and visual appeal.

The watch's design takes inspiration from Tokyo, the birthplace of King Seiko, and its expansive urban landscape stretching toward the horizon. The stainless-steel case features strong angular lines that give the watch a confident, dynamic character.
Despite its bold geometry, the bezel-less construction creates an elegant and streamlined appearance. The integrated stainless-steel bracelet combines mirror-polished and brushed finishes, highlighting the case's multifaceted design while providing a comfortable fit on the wrist.
The dial features a horizontal stripe pattern that adds depth and texture. At the 12 o'clock position, the hour marker incorporates a distinctive V-shaped design, echoed by the counterweight of the seconds hand. These details reinforce the identity of the VANAC collection.
The case back features a blue shield emblem inspired by the King Seiko logo from the 1960s. Through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, the movement's oscillating weight and bridges can be admired, showcasing a refined wave-pattern finish.

The King Seiko VANAC Limited Edition is powered by Seiko's Caliber 8L45 automatic mechanical movement. Designed for modern sports watches, this movement combines durability, precision, and an extended power reserve.
The movement offers approximately 72 hours of power reserve and an accuracy specification of +10 to -5 seconds per day. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it delivers reliable mechanical performance while maintaining the craftsmanship expected from the King Seiko collection.

The King Seiko VANAC 145th Anniversary Limited Edition is scheduled for release in July 2026. Limited to 800 pieces worldwide, the watch is intended to be available through Seiko Boutiques and selected retail partners.
